The Bike Workshop operates by appointment for sales, repairs and other maintenance. You should book via 07591 882 779 or by emailing ActiveTravel@bridgendfarmhouse.org.uk. This will ensure someone is there to accept your bike as the workshop is staffed on a part-time basis.
CAFE OPENING HOURS – THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY 11-4
The menu includes soup, paninis, baked potatoes and the usual variety of barista drinks. We also sell organic milk and eggs, chutneys/ jams and cloth crafts. We advise checking here before travelling in case of any changes.

The Parliament’s Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee is coming to Bridgend Farmhouse! They want to speak to groups across Scotland as they want to understand what would make it easier for people to work with parliament, and are keen to listen to your experiences and ideas so that you can help shape the way the Parliament works in future.

The Travelling Gallery is visiting us with their bus and their latest exhibition.
What’s For Tea? is part of a series of projects and events marking BALTIC’s 20th anniversary year. The exhibition explores food production and consumption, what we eat and how our eating habits could help combat the climate emergency. The exhibition includes work by Isabella Carreras, Kara Chin, Cooking Sections, Future Farmers, Asunción Molinos Gordo, Julia Heslop, David Lisser and Sarah Qaed.

OUTDOOR VOLUNTEERING / ACTIVITY SESSIONS [aimed at adults]
THE BIG SUNDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS!
The Wednesday and Sunday volunteers’ activity sessions are back, outdoors only, from 11am - 3pm weekly. Expect a list of productive but social outdoor action – from gardening, to site clearance, to building sheds, walls and paths and everything in-between!
There will also be a supervised, coached, woodwork offering – for which booking is required due to limited capacity in the workshop. A simple lunch will be provided for volunteers.
Booking is requested for your first week so the facilitator can plan to meet, greet and relay paperwork, but attendance is on the same, as able, basis.
We are now looking for gardening volunteers to help us manage our newly acquired allotment plots. We are a friendly team and we work in a beautiful environment. Come and join us Tuesdays and / or Fridays between 10.30am - 3.30pm. To register interest please email: email@example.com
CONTINUING PARTICIPATION ACTIVITIES
PARADE PREPARATION THURSDAYS: 6:30-8:30pm: Drop in art sessions to plan and make props and costumes inspired by your favourite story character. All welcome, but no unaccompanied children please.
RELAXATION ON FRIDAYS: 2-3pm: £6 [£3 with neighbours’ card]
Take some time for yourself and prepare for the weekend with Maria. [Note the day/time of these sessions may change to raise participation levels.
SINGING ON TUESDAYS: 5.00 - 6.00 pm: Singing Workshop with Darla.
They’ll be in the marquee as a rule so bring your outdoor jumper!
Donations welcomed to help sustain the sessions longer term.
ARTS AND CRAFTS WEDNESDAYS: 2.00 - 4.30pm: in person.
Suitable for all levels of experience. This group meets indoors – thus please book with admin/ the tutor, Gill, so we know how many to expect.
WALKING GROUP: This meets for short (about 1 hour), local walks at a relaxed, chatty pace on Wednesdays from 10am, starting at the Farmhouse, led by trained Health Walk leaders. Booking is preferred for new starts.
TAI CHI: This is offered in the Marquee / indoors on Wednesdays 11:30-12:30 led by Margaret Hendry, a qualified practitioner. Booking is essential as slots are limited. Sessions are currently free, donations are appreciated.
Creative writing Wednesdays: 3.30pm - 4.30pm Donation only
Come and have a cake, cup of tea and create your own poetry diary for 2022! Creative, fun and relaxing sessions. Bring your paper/ pens/ laptop!
MENTAL HEALTH PEER SUPPORT GROUP
We're in the process of recruiting a facilitator to restart our Thursday Peer Support Group. Please register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll let you know when a group has formed!
In the meantime, look out for our chaplain in training, Lee, who's available in the café on Thursdays from 1:30-3:30pm at Bridgend Farmhouse. They are happy to act as a listening ear or just to provide company.
NEW STAINED GLASS DATES: One off workshops run 10am-3:30pm with 2 per session, cost £25 [£20 with neighbours’ card] which is payable in advance and non-fundable for no shows. We typically have a wait list, so please, do let us know if you cannot attend. Dates still available are 30th July, 13th August, and 17th September. Book via email@example.com
CYCLING CENTRED ACTVITIES *NEW DATES*
New Adult Learn to Ride also working as Get Back on Your Wheels! Sessions continue 10th & 17th June running 9:30-10:30am, and also throughout September. Bikes / Helmets etc can be borrowed if you don’t have your own, and classes are small .
Guided rides leaving from Bridgend Farmhouse will run weekly, 2pm -4pm, next sessions 10th June, 17th June then 15th July onwards. There will be the option to hire an e-bike for the session [and to come 30 minutes early for familiarisation [1:30-1:50pm]] at £5. Booking is essential via the admin details. Pedal Bikes and helmets can be borrowed free of charge. Places are limited to 8 max.
As an alternative for those who feel a bit more adventurous we will now be offering ‘Try Mountain Biking Sessions’ on Fridays [next sessions 10th, 17th June], from 2-4pm. All equipment provided [bikes, helmets].
Bike Maintenance classes will be offered ~weekly [next sessions 10th June, 17th June then 22nd July onwards], 10-noon as before. We are able to double up on tutors so the usual possible class size is 6. We suggest a donation of £5 which can be paid in advance (on request).
Balance Bike Classes also restart with next sessions 10th June, 17th June then 22nd July onwards, 2 classes will run most weeks – 2-3pm and 3-4pm with a maximum of 4 per class. These are aimed at children under 6. Balance bikes can be provided.
