Cris Thacker - our General Manager
My joining Bridgend follows on from being the manager of an innovative community development project, funded by the Peoples Health Trust, in Bingham and Magdalene for four years. Many of the projects I was responsible for were resident lead, resulting from extensive community engagement and visioning with a focus on tackling the social determinates of health inequality.
Prior to this, I have worked at the Scottish Parliament as an events and exhibitions coordinator, and with NHS Borders as a project manager and trainer. I have also worked in the corporate sector as an advertising executive as well as managing public affairs with the City of Edinburgh Council and at the University of Edinburgh as an academic representation trainer. I love to travel, I once took a year out to explore on an around the world ticket which took me to Mongolia on the trans-Siberian express (which is not actually that fast) and for two weeks on a hand-built Huckleberry Finn style raft in Yukon. I live in rural East Lothian with my wife and son. I am a trustee of my Village Hall, and a Community Councillor, home brewer and holder of a Hibs season ticket (hence the home brewing). |
