Well it’s been an incredible month with so many amazing people to meet. With so much still to do inside the building from creating plans for the café counter and tables to kitting out the events space and office upstairs to help with planning our HUGE opening day party.
It’s very exciting we have had so many bookings for workshops already and most weekends from now until the end of June are filling up. We will have an external notice board on site letting people know what is going on, as well as the capacity to look up what is running online being created.
We had a new group of under 5’s, Ferniehill Forest School, on site who are going to run a morning nursery from Bridgend on a Thursday morning initially. Louise is an ex-Steiner teacher and hopes to use our acorn fund to get the group established and we will support her with start-up advice. Very excited to help her become the first of many groups using our building as the gateway to Craigmillar Park.
Some of the many amazing things booked already: Wood and Resin Table making workshops, Garden Sculpture, Book Binding, Junk Food Project Kitchen Table talk Dinner, Birdwatching, Spoon Carving, Foraging for Lunch, Bird Box making, Permaculture courses, Forest schools, Stone restoration, Limestone restoration, Photography, Fungi workshop, Come Dine with me.
Events- Our Opening day of course, Summer Solstice, Tradfest, Reflection/Refraction Event, Summer Party, Power of Food Festival, International Storytelling Festival, and we haven’t even opened yet!
I am so honoured and excited about all the magic that’s going to go on in this building, remember pop in and see us soon. Donna
