Community tree nursery

We are developing a new community tree nursery on site. In partnership with The Tree Council charity, ELGT and Friends of Inch Park, we are part of a new national tree growing initiative called ‘Growing Together’ - which aims to connect and support schools and communities with developing the knowledge and skills needed to grow thousands of trees across the country over the coming years.

Community tree nurseries (CTNs) are grassroots projects where local people collect tree seed, raise young trees and nurture them for planting in community spaces, woodlands and nature recovery projects.

Growing Together is a national programme that sets out to double the number of tree nurseries in communities and schools across the UK to help shape a greener, more connected and resilient future.

We and to learn and pass on tree growing skills and grow trees for Craigmillar woods and the Inch.

Trees offer a wide range of benefits - from reducing air pollution and supporting wildlife and insects, to improving our mental wellbeing - it will be great to be part of growing more!
