The Hedge

Hedgerows have shaped the British countryside for centuries, creating boundaries that support wildlife, define landscapes and connect communities.

The Hedge follows the Hampshire Hedge Project, which brings communities together to plant new hedgerows and learn the traditional craft of hedge laying.

Working across the landscape of Hampshire, the project aims to reconnect habitats between the South Downs and the New Forest National Parks.

Through this hands-on work, the film explores how reviving rural skills can reconnect people with the land, help restore habitats that have been disappearing from the countryside, and strengthen communities across the landscape.
