Our Acorn Projects
Upcoming Projects:

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to offer any projects at the farmhouse for now. We have a few now running online

2018 Community Singing Group - Tuesdays 4-6pm

Co-hosted by Darla & Tasmin, and assisted by our Acorn Fund, this group is open to anyone to attend for singing and voice workshops.

The first block of spring workshops of the Bridgend Farmhouse Singing Group was a great success - singing a diverse mix of songs and enjoying the spring awakening with songs in the garden.
Tamsin and Darla ran 9 workshops and the participants performed some of the repertoire at the Power of Food Festival. The group is now taking a break for the summer.
They are looking for funding to continue the group and re-start in Autumn. Look out for updates in our newsletter.

(An enlarged singing Group ran in 2019)

Gardening project in 2018 - With Robin and children to build beds and outdoor seats on our garden.

Wormery Building
With Ruairi...

"The wormery is part of a wider proposal, a system that utilises the biomass of the
woodland and the food waste from the cafe and the local community. The
wormery system is the focal system through which unwanted community food waste and woodland are integrated.
The production of compost can contribute to the benefit of the site, food production and individuals as a material it is ‘black gold’"

Medicinal Dahl Cooking sessions
with Julie...

"Running cooking workshops, teaching people how to make dahl and in particular
educating the participants in the medicinal benefits of the spices and different types of dahl pulses as learnt from nepali folk medicine when I lived in Nepal."

Woodcarving short workshops and tools to do so.
With Alan at Alien spoons

"Free spoon carving workshops for volunteers at Bridgend so that people can make spoons / spatulas / other treen items for the café and for themselves.
Building a shave horse and standing axe blocks for green woodworking on site to help with the above."
