Stevie Palmer - Our Skills Development Coordinator
After Graduating From The University of Edinburgh in 1999 with a degree in Community Education, Stevie chose to specialise in the area of Youth Development.
After a long and successful career with Canongate Youth, focusing on the support of young people within school and community settings (alongside work as an adult education songwriting tutor) he took the decision to embark upon a freelance career as a performing musician and youth music specialist (continuing to run CY’s music programme on a freelance basis). 2020 saw the production and release of his second critically acclaimed album ‘We Become The Sunshine’ with the support of Greentrax Recordings and Creative Scotland. Throughout the past twenty years he has been able to combine his lifelong passion for music with his commitment to helping young people develop their confidence in dealing with life’s challenges and opportunities. This has always been informed by a deep held belief that people have an absolute right to follow a path of education and learning that both inspires and empowers them. Stevie takes up the post of Skills Development Coordinator with Bridgend Farmhouse at a very exciting time as we develop and expand our provision of support for young people aged 16 – 25 and progressively reach out to socially isolated adults from across our geographic community. |
