Bridgend virtual local history tour:
Many local events, groups and meetings have had to be cancelled or transition to an online format due to the COVID-19 situation. In response, we have created this virtual tour to allow anyone with internet access to experience some of the varied history, landmarks and green spaces which make our area so special.
If you live locally, you might want to take the tour in real life, or it can be split into two separate walks. The total length of the tour is just over 3 miles and there are some parts which might be quite muddy depending on the weather!
To access the tour, click on this link to open the tour in a new window once Google Earth opens click 'Present'.
Navigate through the tour using the arrow keys bottom left; most of the locations have several pictures which can also be scrolled through.
It should work on most modern browsers, but it works best using Google Chrome.
The tour was built by local resident Julia Nowak using Google Earth. The historical research was by John Nowak and both contributed photographs.
