Our Workshops Build

As part of the main renovation we are also  adding four community workshops. ​The main structure of these was built by our contractors working on the farmhouse renovation.
​Now that is complete there is opportunities for community participation, for example the  cladding for the workshops will be made from timber and charred before being installed so there will be the chance to take part in that, learning the skills and completing the cladding ourselves.
​Also assisting with final fittings and decoration.

​After an enormous amount of effort the charring of the wood and cladding of the front of the workshops is now complete and our work continues, now including preparing and finishing inside walls and floors as well as sourcing fitting and fixtures .... 

​August 2017 Charring and Cladding Workshops

​The workshops are now almost complete and are in the process of being handed over to us so we attended two courses learning how we are to clad the workshops, but firstly how we will char the larch that they are being clad in.
