If so, Bridgend Farmhouse invites you to take part in a new and exciting project: Stories of Bridgend as a part of the year of stories 2022
From September to December this year, come along to Bridgend Farmhouse to learn about the unique and exciting history of the Farmhouse and the surrounding area, by participating in drama and arts and crafts workshops!
The workshops will focus on 5 different time periods in the history of Bridgend Farmhouse: Medieval times, Royal Kings and Queens, Early 20th Century Farming, Modern farming, and Bridgend Farmhouse as it stands today. We will be building on the fantastic social history work gathered already at Bridgend through the 'Place, Work, Folk', 'Re-drawing Edinburgh' and 'Pride of Place projects'.
We will be thinking about those who may have walked the lands before, and we will imagine the stories that they would have told! We will then bring these stories to life through drama or arts and crafts, and on December 10th and 11th we will perform these stories and present our work in a final performance/showcase.
The drama and arts and crafts workshops will be run by Amy McVicar and Gill Curran, and there will also be other exciting workshops lead by external practitioners that you can attend as a part of this project such as: geological and historical walks of the area, guest speakers, storytellers and more!
Workshop dates and times are as follows:
