Progress report from our Build Project Manager, Graham Harper: "Our contractors, Cornhill Building Services, have made as good a start as we could have hoped for. After removing the original porch, they stripped back the internal walls to the original stonework, happily revealing no major structural problems and only one partition which needed to be rebuilt. They have inserted structural steelwork to strengthen the floors, allowing walls to be taken out both upstairs and down to create the larger open spaces that will house the café and upstairs event room. As we move into March they have begun work on the roof, and digging out the workshop foundations and the café terrace. All is going to plan and I'm very pleased with progress.” |
